This book provides an overview of the nautical chart collection of the Estonian Maritime Museum and introduces the broader history of nautical charts. The chart collection of the Maritime Museum features valuable unique copies, with this book highlighting a selection of 35 unique nautical charts depicting the coastal area of Estonia, the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland, as well as charts of the Pacific coast and the River Thames. Each chart is accompanied by a legend, offering readers more detailed information about when the chart was created along with other fascinating details that can be observed on the chart.

The book was compiled by cartographer Tiina Kruup, foreign-going master Rein Raudsalu, and the collection curator of the Estonian Maritime Museum Evelyn Silmet.
